Job Details Start Date: 6/23/2026 Contract: 13 weeks Location: Bethel, AK 99559 Hourly Pay: $52.00 Non‑taxed Stipend: $1,246.00 Weekly Total Pay: $2,806.00 EMR Used: Cerner All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations. Unregistered technologists may be considered for Diagnostic Imaging Technician. Responsibilities Perform imaging examinations on all ages of patients (newborn through geriatric), ensuring quality and continuity of patient care. Corroborate patient’s clinical history with procedure; assess patient condition and ensure safety, including proper use of restraints/support devices. Make decisions regarding imaging evaluations; read charts, gather lab values, and provide reports to radiologists or attending physicians as required. Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions to obtain desired results, reduce anxiety, and gain cooperation. Demonstrate competency with required equipment and accessories; complete start‑up, shut‑down, and quality control as needed. Select appropriate protocol within imaging equipment for the desired study. Position and immobilize patients appropriately, following provider orders regarding restraints. Verify informed consent and assist radiologists or medical providers during procedures; apply aseptic surgical techniques as needed. Perform examinations in an accurate and timely manner; manage interruptions, emergency studies, and scheduling inquiries. Evaluate images for technical quality; manipulate display parameters; perform QA/QC duties per department standards. Transfer images to digital equipment (PACS) and maintain archival storage. Initiate basic life support actions when necessary. Assist in maintaining patient records, respecting confidentiality and established policy. Report operational or equipment malfunctions to supervisor and assist with orientation and training of new employees. Participate in the department’s quality assessment and improvement plan. Maintain knowledge of universal precautions; apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure. Review requests/reports for completeness and correctness to ensure proper patient care and charges. Adopt additional duties of other imaging staff as needed for facility operation. Perform clerical duties as needed to provide complete coverage of department positions. Maintain certification through continuing education and apply professional judgment in service performance. Compensation Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non‑taxed Stipend (if eligible) Pay package details provided upon offer Requirements Two years post‑graduation experience preferred. Initial training in digital mammography and tomosynthesis required. Meets current MQSA requirements including 15 breast CEU within 36 months and 200 mammography exams in 24 months preferred. Ability to perform mammography studies including routing screening and specialized diagnostic views preferred. Recent x‑ray experience preferred, Fuji experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program with dedicated mammography training preferred or current registration with ARRT may be accepted. Current registration with ARRT (R)(M) or equivalent required. Must have BLS/BCLS certification. ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications highly desired. Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking, organizational, and multitasking skills. Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs.
