About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: RN Certifications: None required. CCRN recommended. Must-Have: Titration of vesicant medications. Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics. Experience with ventilators and tracheostomies. Telemetry interpretation. Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation. Transvenous pacing and cardioversion. Familiarity with chest tube insertions and maintenance. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the CVICU. The unit includes 16 beds. Patient ratios may be 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity. RNs only, no health unit coordinators or patient care technicians. Type of equipment includes ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, and CRRT. Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis. Uniform requirements include all navy or navy and white scrubs. No pullovers or hoodies are allowed; green scrubs are only permitted when uniform is soiled. Candidates should have advanced skills, including IABP, Impella, and CRRT. Familiarity with specific nursing interventions is appreciated.
