Qualified Sit-Down Propane Forklift Operator/Material Handler

3rd Shift 11:00 pm - 7:00 am, Sunday Night - Friday Morning; Overtime as Needed

We are searching for a qualified sit-down propane forklift operator/material handler to assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to the truck drivers and the production floor. Strong organizational, teamwork, dependability, accountability, and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How You Will Contribute:

• Complete and document a sit-down forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating a new forklift.
• Verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.
• Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials
• Ensure that all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift's production run
• Must ensure that all materials being removed from a production line are accurately recorded on the correct form, and that all materials have been properly banded and/or wrapped to ensure that they will "hold up" in the warehouse.
• Performs periodic routine maintenance checks on the lifts. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
• Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
• Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
• Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
• Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adhere to daily production schedule.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

What It Takes:

• 2+ years' experience as forklift operator in production or distribution environment.
• Able to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
