Director, Insight Research

Design, direct, and coordinate enterprise-wide, large-scale research activities Gather and analyze data about current and prospective members, competitors, and the market Develop member and prospective-member research programs aligned with USAA objectives and service-quality goals Establish research policies, procedures, processes, and governance Monitor projects through progress reports, budget oversight, trend research, and findings Lead reporting structures, metrics, and governance for member, prospective-member, and marketplace research Lead cross-functional teams and develop processes supporting groups beyond Market Research Build and maintain a high-performing team; delegate, prioritize, and oversee project deliverables Develop strategic unit and business-partner research learning agendas Monitor market and operational trends and formulate research findings Improve and implement tools and processes for capturing, analyzing, and communicating insights Advocate for members by applying research recommendations to business decisions Sponsor small/moderate and/or DEV IT projects enhancing research infrastructure Manage third-party contracts, budgets, performance, and resources Develop and present reports to executive management, including the CEO and Board of Directors Recruit, develop, retain, coach, support, and manage employees Identify, measure, monitor, and control business risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies Requirements Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience 8 years of experience in market research, insights, and/or quantitative analysis 3 years of direct team leadership or management experience Ability to transform business objectives into actionable research initiatives using analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Knowledge of qualitative or quantitative research methodologies Proficiency in relevant research tools and industry data sources Experience integrating insights from multiple data sources into an integrated insights story Project/process management experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Subject-matter-expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools Strategic business partnership and trusted-advisor experience leading enterprise research projects Experience building and driving high-impact teams High business acumen and ability to translate research findings into business decisions Strong communication skills that influence at senior levels Experience partnering with external third-party research vendors USAA does not provide visa sponsorship; applicants must not require immigration support now or in the future Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in market research methodologies and data analysis, with a strong ability to translate insights into strategic business decisions.
