Qualifications:

• Valid VQAS Level 3 or higher, or a minimum 3.5 EIPA with the written section passed
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience interpreting in school or educational settings is preferred
• Professional, reliable, and able to work collaboratively
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Passion for supporting student success and accessibility

Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one sign language interpreting services for a 3rd-grade student throughout the school day
• Accurately convey spoken language and signed communication between the student and others
• Collaborate closely with educational staff, adapting interpreting methods to meet the student's needs
• Support the student’s access to classroom instruction, activities, and peer interactions
• Maintain detailed records and participate in team meetings as needed
• Encourage student independence while providing appropriate levels of support
