As a OT with Muir Home Health, you will have the opportunity to advance your career while receiving strong compensation and excellent benefits.BENEFITSCompetitive compensationHealth, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance401(k) plan with generous company matchCritical illness benefitPaid time offEmployee assistance programPay Range: $65.00 - $80.00/hrJob Type: Full Time, Part Time, Per DiemUp to $10,000 Sign on BonusThis is a home health role and will require the occupational therapist to work in the field visiting patients in the community.JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking an occupational therapist (OT) to be responsible for the implementation of standards of care for occupational therapy services and for adherence to all conditions outlined in the Service Agreement.DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITYProvides patient, caregiver, and family counseling.Provides patient and caregiver education.Communicates with the physician who is responsible for the home health plan of care and other health care practitioners (as appropriate) related to the current home health plan of care.Evaluates patient’s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.).Evaluates home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living. Identifies equipment needs. Participates in the development of the total plan of care.Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function.Teaches new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with Organization policy.Fabricates splints and instruct patient in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function.Trains patient in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.JOB REQUIREMENTSValid CA OT LicensePossesses and maintains current CPR certification.2+ years of clinical experience as an occupational therapistMust be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.WHY MUIR HOME HEALTH?Muir Home Health is a joint venture between John Muir Health and Cornerstone Group which has about 75 home health and hospice agencies throughout the country.
