Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience, Epic proficiency, and an active RN license.

Details

• 12-week contract on a 24-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:6 on nights
• Charting via Epic (preferred experience)
• Floating within scope may be required, including to other facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Candidate's permanent address must be more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Valid driver's license or state-issued ID and a utility bill in the traveler's name with a matching address (issued within the last 3 months) required for consideration
• 2 supervisory references required for consideration
• No active license hits or disciplinary actions on license

Additional Information

• Skills utilized include telemetry and cardiac monitoring, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per 13-week assignment; no holiday RTO will be accepted
• Former permanent employees of this health system must have at least 1 year of separation before being eligible to apply
• Local candidates (within 75 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position
• Orientation includes a mix of billable and non-billable modules, typically ranging from 2–8 hours
