Machine Operator

Pay: $20–$23/hour

Shift: Openings Available on All Shifts

Location: Downers Grove, IL

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Downers Grove, IL. In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of production equipment, including saws, broaching machines, stamping presses, drills, and tapping machines. The ideal candidate will be able to read blueprints, perform machine setups, inspect finished products, and ensure quality and production standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production equipment, including saws, broaches, stamping presses, drills, and tapping machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and production requirements
• Determine proper operation sequences, tooling, feed rates, and cutting speeds
• Install and secure tooling, fixtures, and materials for safe and accurate production
• Adjust machine controls, feeds, speeds, positioning, and cutting depths as needed
• Perform multiple machine setups throughout the shift to support various production runs
• Load raw materials and unload finished components efficiently
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
• Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
• Identify and report quality concerns, defects, or equipment issues
• Replace worn or damaged tooling to minimize downtime
• Maintain coolant systems and ensure proper machine lubrication
• Assist with additional shop functions, including grinding, sanding, assembly, fabrication, and saw operation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards

Qualifications

• Previous machine operation and setup experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to lift, stand, bend, and move throughout the shift

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
