Fire Prevention Officer (Public Safety Specialist) - Midwest City Listing Title: Fire Prevention Officer (Public Safety Specialist) The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for Fire Prevention Officer (Public Safety Specialist) in the Fire Department. The incumbent will be under the general direction of the Fire Marshal and will perform the following core functions: fire and life safety inspections, fire investigations, public safety education, and other assignments within the Fire Prevention Bureau. Qualifications and Requirements: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, and be insurable. Must be certified as an IFSAC or Pro Board Inspector I (or equivalent) and successfully complete credentialed fire inspection and investigation training within one (1) year of attaining the position, as approved by the Fire Chief. Preferred certifications and qualifications include: Fire Inspector I and II, IFSAC or Pro Board Officer I, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Instructor I and II, and a Bachelor’s degree in education, fire prevention, or management.
