Junior AccountantASA's Mission is to maintain and enhance the quality, diversity, cost, and value of food in the campus dining programs, improving fiscally prudent and affordable food plans for students while ensuring the availability of desired and appropriate merchandise, products, and services for the campus community; fostering and supporting the campus' core mission of academics, research, scholarship and intellectual creativity, inclusivity, and sustainability.The Junior Accountant supports the ASA Finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, and balance sheet reconciliation. This role contributes to financial reporting, budgeting, and trend analysis, while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. The position also performs general bookkeeping and administrative tasks as needed.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of two years of bookkeeping experienceGeneral knowledge of financial statements and accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall computer literacyExperience with computer accounting systemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and teamwork abilitiesAbility to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with ERP systemsExperience with budgeting and financial statement analysisDuties/Responsibilities:Review, process and pay vendor invoices accurately and on timeInvestigate and resolve discrepancies on vendor statementsPrepare and issue accounts receivable invoicesAssist with collections and follow-up on outstanding balancesRecord daily deposits and reconcile against sales reports and bank statementsAssist with reconciliation and coding of credit card transactionsRecord ACH and check deposits as necessaryPerform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport preparation and analysis of monthly financial statementsAssist with budget development and annual planning processesContribute to financial trend analysis and reportingAssist with timely and accurate month end close activitiesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accountsComplete weekly check runsPerform other accounting, bookkeeping and administrative duties as assignedASA is an employer and educator recognized for valuing AA/EEO and Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.No relocation or VISA Sponsorship is available.ASA may make reasonable accommodations to enable applicants to participate in the hiring process and employees to perform their essential functions.
