Senior Managing Counsel, Regulatory

Title and Summary Senior Managing Counsel, Regulatory – CEO of the Global Regulatory team is responsible for liaising with regulators worldwide to meet supervisory obligations and minimize regulatory impact. This role drives the execution of regulatory strategy across technology infrastructure, operational and enterprise resilience, and supplier ecosystems, ensuring alignment with evolving global expectations while enabling growth and innovation. Role and Responsibilities Define regulatory obligations relating to infrastructure/technology, operational and enterprise resilience, and supplier management (3rd‑party risk and intercompany agreements) across Mastercard platforms. Lead engagement with regulatory colleagues globally, advising on regimes for technology/infrastructure, operational resilience, and supplier management in line with the regulatory strategy. Drive cross‑functional alignment with legal colleagues on regulatory requirements of commercial contracts with third parties to ensure business enablement. Define and implement scalable regulatory approaches for technology, operations, third‑party risk, intercompany agreements, and enterprise resilience to manage existing and evolving regulatory changes. Own and oversee enterprise execution with cross‑functional stakeholders (Regulatory, Supplier Management, Technology Regulatory Execution, and relevant lines of business) to coordinate regulatory obligations across infrastructure and related frameworks alongside other Mastercard regulations. Experience Required JD from an established and reputable law school. Experience with infrastructure, technology, operational and enterprise resilience, and supplier management, with a deep understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks. Proven ability to translate and interpret complex regulations into clear operational guidance for technology, infrastructure, resilience, and supplier teams. Experience in a regulatory position within a corporation, law firm, or government context in payments, banking, or financial services. Demonstrated influence on executive stakeholders and global regulators. Experience leading global regulatory strategy in highly regulated environments. Strong executive presence and decisive capability in ambiguous settings. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Success navigating multi‑national organizations and operating effectively in a diverse multicultural setting. Proactive, time‑sensitive, results‑driven approach to all duties and responsibilities. Compensation Competitive base salary range of $239,000 – $383,000 USD (for the Purchase, New York location) with potential eligibility for annual bonus or commissions.
