Why This Role Stands Out Hybrid schedule with flexibility (minimum 3 days in-office) Work on sophisticated liability and defense litigation matters Substantive litigation responsibilities from case inception through trial Collaborative culture with strong attorney and team interaction Modern firm environment focused on innovation and professional development Comprehensive benefits package and long-term growth opportunities What You Will Do Draft and prepare: Pleadings Discovery demands and responses Motions Subpoenas Settlement documents Support litigation matters from inception through trial Conduct legal and factual research using LexisNexis and Westlaw Obtain, review, analyze, and summarize medical records Prepare medical chronologies and case summaries for attorney review Coordinate: Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) Depositions Expert appointments Mediation and arbitration logistics Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, experts, and co-counsel Manage case deadlines, filings, and litigation calendars Maintain organized case files within document and case management systems Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and trial binders Accurately maintain billable time records Qualifications 5 years of litigation support experience required Paralegal certificate required Defense litigation experience strongly preferred Experience with liability, insurance defense, or civil litigation matters preferred Knowledge of New York State and Federal Court filing procedures Experience with NYSCEF and Federal Court e-filing strongly preferred Strong experience reviewing and summarizing medical records Proficiency with: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Case management and document management systems LexisNexis and/or Westlaw Excellent organizational, proofreading, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment Associate's degree or higher preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary: $52,000 -- $83,500 , depending on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage 401(k) with vested employer match Paid time off Flexible hybrid work structure About the Firm This confidential employer is a modern litigation firm known for its collaborative culture, commitment to client service, and innovative approach to legal practice.
