In the course of a year, we provide more than 3,000 children, ages 6 weeks through Pre-K with high-quality literacy and STEAM-infused learning; give 58,000 youth and teens access to sports, aquatics, day and resident camps, teen leadership development programs, and employment opportunities; provide over 200,000 members with programs, services, and facilities to enjoy connection and maintain wellness regardless of age; and engage over 25,000 volunteers and donors from across Atlanta to share in the gift of supporting their communities.Job DescriptionNature And Scope:Under the direction of the Afterschool Director or Youth Development Director, the CDL Bus Driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Take daily attendance at the start of the program and during each transitionCoordinate supply requests with directors.Establish open lines of communication with branch staff and school staff.Assist in planning and implementing the program according to YMCA and BFTS licensing guidelines.Must attend Bright from the Start, YMCA and other training as scheduled.Consult with the Director(s) on concerns related to student(s) development or behavior.Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.Stay updated on current issues regarding Out of School programs.Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all Out of School programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Branch and off-site Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Be at least 21 years of ageProvide sound, caring and positive leadership for youthRecognize and implement safety standards during routePass a criminal background check, BFTS fingerprinting, MVR, and drug screeningPass a driving record check to drive for the YMUST Possess a Commercial Driver License (CDL)Must have own transportation to travel to assigned locationMust be available to work between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00p.m., M-FKnowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus)Be able to provide sound, caring and positive leadership for childrenAttend staff training.CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment.Ergonomics :Bending, stooping, standing, lifting to 40 pounds, seeing, verbal communication and hearing.Employment and Benefits package for this job posting is offered through the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc.Employment Requirement:Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check according to company policy.Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.This job posting is subject to change at any time.The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta offers excellent benefits and career opportunities as part of our culture of excellence.
