Job Summary

As a Telemetry Technician, you will be responsible for observing, documenting, and interpreting cardiac rhythms, operating monitoring equipment, and responding promptly to alarms and emergency situations. Effective communication and composure in high-stress environments are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor patient cardiac rhythms and physiological parameters.
• Recognize and report rhythm abnormalities to Registered Nurses following established protocols.
• Operate and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient monitoring and communications.
• Support team activities and foster a positive work environment.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Telemetry Technician or ECG interpretation course preferred.
• One to two years of experience in a patient care setting preferred.
• Telemetry Technician experience is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation with the ability to pass certification exams.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to complete a telemetry training course within three weeks of hire.

Work Environment

This position offers 12-hour shifts on a PRN basis during night hours. The role is based in a regional healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest, providing critical access hospital services with a focus on patient-centered care.
