Mainframe Assembler Developer

Highly Experienced Developer PositionWe are seeking a highly experienced developer to support and enhance a mission-critical legacy application written in IBM z/OS assembler language. This role requires a self-sufficient engineer capable of independently analyzing, maintaining, and improving high-volume, high-availability batch processing systems in a regulated financial services environment.Required Skills & Qualifications8 years of experience in IBM Mainframe application development and production supportStrong hands-on expertise in Assembler (HLASM) programmingJCL development and troubleshootingExperience with GDGs and batch processingProven experience with Connect:Direct (NDM), ISPW (or equivalent change management tools), CA7 scheduling, TSO / ISPF environment, and GitHub CoPilotDemonstrated experience supporting high-volume financial transaction systemsExperience working in high-availability environments, including Sysplex architectures and multiple LPARsSolid understanding of mainframe datasets, VSAM, and utilitiesExperience using ServiceNow and/or RemedyProven ability to work independently in loosely documented legacy environments and analyze complex assembler codebasesDiagnose and resolve critical production issues quicklyPrior work experience at client or in client's IndustryApplicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesSupport and enhance mission-critical legacy applicationsIndependently analyze, maintain, and improve high-volume, high-availability batch processing systemsDiagnose and resolve critical production issues quicklyCompany Benefits & CultureHybrid schedule requirement of a minimum of 3 days per weekOpportunity to work in a regulated financial services environmentCollaborative and dynamic work environment
