Day in the Life

Join our team as the on-site expert for a Kitsap County property, keeping building systems reliable and resident homes comfortable. In this full-time role, you’ll move between HVAC tune-ups, plumbing fixes, electrical swaps, carpentry repairs, and grounds care—often in occupied homes—while ensuring units are turned quickly and safely.

• Return vacated apartments to rent-ready condition: clean fixtures, repair sheetrock, paint, re-key locks, and repair woodwork, cabinets, and doors.
• Close out assigned work orders promptly—most within resident-occupied units—with professional communication and care.
• Own unit turns from start to finish, including creation of scope of work with the Site/Public Housing Manager for each vacated unit.
• Carpentry: rough and finish tasks such as repairing sheetrock, building walls, installing shelves and cabinets, hanging doors, and installing counters.
• Electrical: install or replace outlets, light ballasts, light fixtures, and switches.
• Plumbing: clear drains, replace faucets and valves, install sinks, and repair leaks.
• HVAC: program thermostats, lube motors, and replace belts and filters.
• Materials: monitor inventory, research vendors, compare costs, and purchase supplies within budget.
• Grounds: perform daily and monthly maintenance of property exteriors.
• Participate in the on-call maintenance schedule.
• Oversee vendor performance on assigned properties and report any issues to management.
• Run errands to pick up supplies and deliver materials to worksites.
• Execute detailed, routine procedures accurately—even under pressure and interruptions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Hands-on building maintenance across HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical trades, plus custodial work as needed.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, procedures, and techniques used for equipment operation and maintenance tasks relevant to the assignment.
• Understanding of job hazards and commitment to required safety trainings and precautions.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid Washington State driver’s license, fully insurable driving record, and auto insurance.

Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Compensation: $22.42–$24.83 per hour DOE
