Jarraff Operator

The Jarraff Operator operates heavy equipment of various types to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.

Essential functions include following and enforcing safe practices, assisting in preparing equipment, operating equipment as directed, maintaining and repairing equipment, assisting other crew members, cleaning up debris, setting up barriers, staying informed on new equipment and practices, tracking mileage, and performing duties for storm work as needed.

Supervisory responsibilities include no direct reports.

Experience requirements include prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred. A high school diploma or education equivalent is preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment, physical strength and good balance, ability to work outdoors under varying weather conditions, ability to hear verbal instructions, first-aid certification and CPR, wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), good vision, maintaining a driver's license, maintaining a CDL and DOT Medical Card, writing, reading, and comprehending written and verbal job instructions, maintaining balance over uneven terrain, communicating with others, and endurance to perform duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day.

Work authorization requirements include meeting I-9 requirements.
