Controller

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will serve as a key finance leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with executive leadership to support business growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting skills, leadership experience, and the ability to drive process improvements in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Manage and develop the accounting team, providing leadership, mentorship, and process guidance. Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting packages, and key financial analyses. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Partner with executive leadership on financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other third-party providers. Oversee cash flow management, working capital analysis, and financial controls. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and accounting process improvements. Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and complex transactions. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility. Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience managing and developing accounting teams. Proven ability to improve processes and implement best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
