Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Reach Forklift Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating double wide forklifts, 2/3/4 stage lifts, reach lifts, and potentially clamp lifts. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading freight trucks and rail cars filled with beverages such as beer, wine, soft drinks, and spirits. The role involves working across three locations, two on Swan Island and one on Marine Drive. You will handle palletized full pallet loads around the warehouse, mainly using sit-down electric forklifts, and utilize RF scanning systems with scannable barcodes for efficient inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Operate double wide forklifts, 2/3/4 stage lifts, reach lifts, and possibly clamp lifts.
• Load and unload freight trucks and rail cars containing beverages.
• Move palletized full pallet loads around the warehouse using sit-down electric forklifts.
• Utilize RF scanning systems and scannable barcodes for inventory management.

Essential Skills

• Forklift operation experience, including sit-down and reach forklifts.
• Proficiency in inventory management and material handling.
• Experience with RF scanner and order picking.
• 1+ year experience in a distribution facility with forklifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and receiving.
• Knowledge of storage, picking, production, and packing processes.

Work Environment

Work in a large, temperature-controlled warehouse facility maintained at 50-60 degrees year-round. The environment is dynamic and engaging, with the exciting backdrop of the beverage industry, including beer and wine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
