Senior Architect / Project Architect

Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Architect / Project Architect to take a leading technical and organizational role within the studio. This position is intended for someone who has direct experience delivering complex projects in Los Angeles or Southern California , and can operate with a high degree of autonomy. The ideal candidate is not only experienced, but reliable under pressure. You should be able to lead documentation, manage teams, coordinate consultants, and navigate permitting processes without constant oversight. This role functions as a technical anchor for project teams. Responsibilities Lead the development of complex architectural projects from design development through construction documentation and construction administration. Direct and mentor project teams by providing clear instructions, redlines, and sketch details for others to execute in Revit. Develop, detail, and coordinate architectural systems for Type I buildings, including structure, envelope, life-safety, vertical circulation, and MEP integration. Oversee drawing quality, coordination, and consistency across large and multi-consultant drawing sets. Coordinate closely with structural, MEP, civil, façade, and specialty consultants. Manage and support permit submittals and agency reviews with Los Angeles–area AHJs and jurisdictions across Southern California. Review RFIs, submittals, and construction issues, ensuring alignment with design intent, code requirements, and constructability. Contribute to internal standards, detailing approaches, and technical workflows within the office. Qualifications Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) 8+ years of professional experience , with demonstrated project leadership Proven experience delivering Type I construction projects Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or large-scale residential projects Strong working knowledge of California Building Code and local permitting processes Direct experience working with Los Angeles and Southern California jurisdictions Advanced proficiency in Revit , including managing large and complex drawing sets Strong detailing ability, with the capacity to communicate ideas clearly through sketches and drawings Experience coordinating full consultant teams and resolving complex technical issues Ability to manage staff and projects without requiring constant direction Clear, direct communication and decision-making ability Preferred Licensed Architect (or actively pursuing licensure) Experience as Architect of Record (AOR) on projects in California Familiarity with fast-track delivery and developer-driven projects Korean language skills are a plus, but not required This role is best suited for someone who: Can own the technical delivery of a project, not just contribute to it Is comfortable leading teams and making decisions Understands that clear documentation reduces construction risk Can operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment #J-18808-Ljbffr Archinect
