Eyecare Associates of Kuna is looking for a friendly, motivated Optician to join our team. Previous optical experience is not required ; we provide hands-on training and will teach you everything you need to know to be successful in the role.
If you have a background in sales, retail, customer service, or hospitality , you may be a great fit! Opticians work one-on-one with patients to help them select eyewear that fits their prescription, lifestyle, personal style, and budget. This position is a great combination of customer service, sales, healthcare, and fashion .
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has a positive attitude, is comfortable recommending products, and is eager to learn a new skill and grow with our practice.

- Help patients select frames and lenses that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Educate patients on eyewear and lens options
- Take measurements to ensure proper fit and vision (training provided)
- Place and track eyewear orders
- Dispense, adjust, and perform minor repairs on eyewear
- Verify insurance and vision benefits when applicable
- Maintain an organized and attractive optical showroom
- Work closely with doctors and staff to provide an excellent patient experience
- Answer patient questions and resolve concerns professionally
- Accurately document information in our computer systems
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to learn technical information and explain it clearly to patients
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn EHR and optical software
- Ability to provide exceptional patient service while maintaining accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous optical experience
- Experience in retail sales, healthcare, customer service, or a patient-facing role
- Experience working with insurance benefits
- Knowledge of eyewear products, lens options and frame styling
