Associate Counsel Contracts/Leases - Global Industrial

SUMMARY:The Associate Counsel – Corporate Contracts and Leasing sits within the Legal department and is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and real estate lease agreements in support of the company’s distribution centers, branches, and other facilities. This position joins the newly created legal team at Motion Industries’ Atlanta, GA location; the role will be reporting to Motion Industries’ VP - Legal. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, driven, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic public company environment.JOB DUTIESDraft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including corporate contracts, procurement agreements, vendor and supplier contracts, and service agreementsManage the full contract lifecycle for the above agreement types, from initial drafting through execution and renewalDraft, review, and negotiate real estate lease agreements, including lease renewals and amendmentsPartner closely with internal real estate, procurement, lease management, and business teams, as well as outside counsel and landlords, on lease-related and general commercial mattersSupport the company’s distribution centers, branches, and other facilities on contract and property mattersMaintain knowledge of the organization’s contracts, leases, and related legal documentsAdvise the VP - Legal, senior management, and business teams on contract and lease-related mattersLiaise with outside counsel regarding their assignments and manage outside counsel relationships as neededPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSBachelor’s degree, Juris Doctorate degree, and a member of the State Bar of Georgia (or an ability to waive in)Experience in commercial contracts and real estate leasing mattersMinimum of 5 years’ practice with an established law firm or corporate legal departmentProven ability to manage internal and external relationshipsExceptional communicatorSelf-starter and responsiveAble to work collaboratively; team playerStrong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgencyCOMPANY INFORMATION: Motion offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcare coverage, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, vacation, sick, and holiday pay.DISCLAIMER: This job Description illustrates the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this job classification.
