Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) night shift position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 6 months of telemetry experience and active LA or compact RN licensure.

Job Details

• Located in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit - not a stepdown unit,
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients,
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1-6:1 depending on staffing,
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Every other weekend required,
• No on-call requirements,
• 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a valid compact state license,
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required,
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required,
• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience required,
• Minimum 6 months of telemetry experience required,
• SSN required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process - assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation,
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness,
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families,
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided,
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education,
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days,
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside,
• BSN is preferred but not required,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates,
• 2 professional references required for consideration
