Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and diligent Dishwasher to join our senior living community's culinary team. The Dishwasher will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment by efficiently cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. This role is crucial to ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Key Responsibilities Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils using industrial dishwashing equipment or by hand, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. Keep the kitchen and dishwashing areas clean and organized, ensuring all workspaces are tidy and free from clutter. Assist with the proper care and maintenance of dishwashing equipment, notifying supervisors of any malfunction or maintenance needs. Assist with the receiving and storage of kitchen supplies, including dishes, utensils, and cleaning supplies; monitor inventory levels and notify kitchen staff when supplies need to be replenished. Properly handle and dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables, following waste management procedures. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of dishes and utensils for meal service. Follow established cleaning and sanitation protocols, including those related to food handling, to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down counters, and maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals. Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when needed, such as chopping vegetables or preparing simple dishes. Qualifications Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role preferred but not required. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Willingness to work as part of a team and assist in various tasks as needed. Reliability: Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
