Join us to make legends happen!THE ROLEResponsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the arena to ensure accurate and timely completion of conversion between events including concerts, basketball, ice events, and family shows. This position will supervise and oversee conversion staff, assist with facility repairs and maintenance when needed, assist the Event Services department with show-related requests and continuously monitor building needs and make recommendations. As a manager, the incumbent in this position will also be expected to maintain professional and effective working relationships with all employees of the facility and our clients.ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHire, supervise, train and develop new and existing employees.Prepare weekly and monthly schedules for both part-time and full-time Conversions/Operations staff. Ensure accurate time cards for hourly staffReview the day-to-day department needs and recommend facility repairs and maintenance where needed.Work with Event Managers on all show-related requests.Monitor expenses and order supplies as needed.Assist in keeping the inside and outside of the facility clean and organizedDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures for the department.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEA minimum education level of BA/BS Degree (4-year) in a related field or a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience. 3+ years in sports and entertainment venue preferredWorking knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in building operations (forklift, power tools, basic tools, etc.)Experience leading and supervising a large, diverse staffKnowledge of budget preparation and monitoring spendingMust have skills in planning, coordinating and establishing prioritiesKnowledge of safety practices to meet OSHA requirementsSKILLS AND ABILITIESExcellent written communication, written and verbal skillsCan effectively establish and maintain professional working relationships with othersAble to work long hours and some overnights performing difficult work under time pressureAble to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidaysAble to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time; push and pull heavy items and equipmentKnowledge of the function and operation of a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facilityCOMPENSATIONCompetitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.WORKING CONDITIONSLocation: Desert Diamond ArenaPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
