Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years required License: Current Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with LDRP, newborn care, and high-risk antepartum Description: Unit requires care for laboring patients from 35 weeks. Responsibilities include providing postpartum and newborn care. Every third weekend is required unless specified otherwise. No call duty is required. Floating within facility/scope of practice may be needed. Patient ratios are 2:1 for both day and night shifts. Daily census is approximately 6 patients with an estimated 3 visits per day. Unit features 7 rooms and 7 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time. If not compliant, there may be a delay of 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling. Max time off allowed is 7 days. Compliance documentation must be completed on time. Major holidays falling within the assignment period require work unless otherwise arranged. Essential skills includes knowledge of labor and delivery processes, newborn assessment, and postpartum care. Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic, is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend and holiday coverage is part of the expectation.
