Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery / Postpartum

Schedule: Every 3rd weekend

Assignment Details: Daily census: ~6 patients; Patient ratios: 2:1 (days/nights/weekends)

Requirements: Minimum 3 years RN experience; GA or Compact RN license required; Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP; Experience with 2:1 patient ratios preferred; Community hospital experience preferred; Trauma Level I/II experience preferred; Proficient in Epic charting system

Roles & Responsibilities: Provide labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care, including support for vaginal and C-section deliveries. Conduct newborn assessments and ensure proper identification/banding. Deliver couplet care, facilitating breastfeeding and lactation support. Manage postpartum care and handle potential hemorrhage situations. Perform IV starts and manage infusion pumps/drip therapy. Educate patients on discharge instructions and car seat safety.

Compliance / Notes: Orientation: 36 hours (plus additional modules based on contract length); Maximum 7 days requested time off (RTO) per contract, finalized at submission; No RTO requests during orientation week; All compliance documents due the Tuesday prior to start; Major holidays: expected to work as specified (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
