Location & Shift Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) – Nights (7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Worker Type: Regular & Exemption Status: No Job Summary Inpatient Registered Nurse at Geisinger with a hiring incentive of up to $26,000 for eligible candidates. Minimum hiring rate of $41.00, with higher rates for experienced nurses and up to $7 in shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Responsibilities Complete patient assessments per scope of practice and unit standards. Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Formulate and coordinate plans of care, including patient and family education and discharge planning. Provide direct patient care with treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure. Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjust plans based on patient response. Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary team for patient needs. Troubleshoot and correct equipment issues. Participate in unit-based decision-making and evidence‑based practice initiatives. Act as a team member focused on unit and organizational goals and metrics. Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and activities. Qualifications & Experience Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (required) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred). Lifelong Basic Life Support Certification. Licensed Registered Nurse (state of Pennsylvania). Clinical, communication, interpersonal, organization, and teamwork skills. Preceptor skills preferred.
