Optometric Technician
Precision Vision Institute is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our growing specialty optometry practice. We provide routine eye care as well as advanced treatment for dry eye disease, keratoconus, irregular corneas, and specialty contact lens patients.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Intake & Clinical Workup
- Obtain patient history, medications, chief complaint, and visual acuities.
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for the doctor while maintaining efficient patient flow.
Diagnostic Testing & Imaging
- Perform testing such as corneal topography/tomography, meibography, OCT, and external photography.
- Ensure diagnostic images and measurements are accurate and high quality.
Dry Eye & Medical Care
- Perform dry-eye testing and prepare patients for treatments such as RF and IPL.
- Reinforce doctor-prescribed home care, medication instructions, and treatment plans.
Specialty Contact Lenses
- Assist with scleral, orthokeratology, and other specialty contact lens evaluations.
- Teach patients proper lens insertion/removal, cleaning, and handling.
Patient Education
- Review doctor-prescribed treatment plans and home-care instructions with patients.
- Answer routine questions while recognizing when clinical questions should be referred to the doctor.
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Assist with prescription prior authorizations, medical documentation, and insurance-related tasks.
- Maintain organized patient records and coordinate necessary follow-up care.
Clinical Operations
- Maintain clean, organized, patient-ready exam and treatment rooms.
- Monitor clinical, contact lens, and dry-eye supplies.

Previous optometric or ophthalmic experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate .
