Responsibilities As a Fiber Splicing Technician, you are responsible for creating end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job correctly, being the best, and are prepared for the challenge. Additionally, you will perform the following tasks: Test and troubleshoot continuity issues in fiber optic networks. Operate all testing equipment and be skilled in resolving common challenges in fiber optic networks. Have experience in preparing fiber splicing boxes, such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning, etc. Use fusion splicers, OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) testing equipment 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, and power meter. Have knowledge of fiber engineering, read documentation, understand light levels, and dB loss. Work on outdoor utility construction sites. Qualifications About you: Safety is part of your daily routine. You have a proven track record of completing work with a high level of quality. You have the ability to solve difficult problems and enjoy a practical approach to your work. You are looking for long-term projects. You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team. You have 3 to 5 years of experience in fiber splicing and problem-solving. You are comfortable working on a ladder or in a bucket truck. You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts, including overtime. MOS codes V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, and 5699 relate well to this position. Hard work has rewards.
