Licensed Practical Nurse - Full-time

Job Relationships Responsible to: Unit Coordinator/Clinical; Manager/Registered Nurse Nature of supervision received: Direct Positions directly supervised: Nursing Assistants Rivers Health is seeking a full‑time LPN to perform nursing services on our Med/Surg Unit. Works under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, rendering nursing care, including medications and treatments to patients in a timely manner. Essential Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned; and specific functions may change from time to time. Provides direct patient care. Administers medications (PO, IM, IV push) in a safe and timely manner; accurately documents medication administration. Responsible for safeguarding medications and narcotics. Starts and assists with the maintenance of IV lines. Accurate documentation of care. Assists with patient education in collaboration with other disciplines. Assists with unit cleanliness. Assists with admission and discharge assessments. Respects patient privacy, rights, and values of individuals, and provides care accordingly. Takes responsibility for a given group of patients according to the care plan provided by the registered nurse. Works under direct supervision of a registered nurse. Reports observations and pertinent information to the registered nurse. Works closely and harmoniously with the registered nurse. Assists in orienting new employees. Administers nursing care safely and timely, according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophy. Completes all annual competencies. Performs other duties that may be assigned. Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies, and Personnel Employee Handbook. Must be able to cross‑train to other units. Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration; attends unit meetings. Participates in quality improvement activities, including serving on quality improvement teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
