EH&S Generalist (Onsite)

Job Title: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional – Pratt & Whitney Auto Air Lansing, MI Location: US-MI-HOLT-PLANT 5, 1781 Holloway Dr, PLANT 5 Position Type: Onsite Citizenship Requirement: U.S. citizenship is required. Security Clearance: None / Not Required What You Will Do: Partner with line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and RTX EH&S Standard Practices. Support the administration of an EH&S Council, interfacing with subcommittees, updating performance trends, and tracking EH&S projects to completion. Provide technical direction to line management and council subcommittee teams for effective execution of goals and objectives. Serve as program manager for Health and Safety programs such as Contractor Safety Management, Elevated Work, Emergency Response and other Health and Safety Programs. Work on cross‑functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team. Respond to onsite medical incidents and act as a spill responder on a rotating schedule. Coordinate and conduct specialized Health and/or Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations in conjunction with others to monitor performance and assist line management to produce action plans for necessary improvements. Conduct trend analysis for inspections/audits, injuries, spills, near‑hits and develop corrective and preventive actions to improve performance. Identify opportunities to integrate EH&S programs into overall business operations with a focus on management system integration. Participate in pollution prevention and waste reduction initiatives. Assist line management with investigations, mistake‑proofing initiatives, and immediate correction of unsafe conditions or practices. Ensure EH&S training is conducted and provide assistance as needed. Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor environment. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and minimum 8 years of EH&S regulatory compliance experience, or Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of EH&S regulatory and management systems. Qualifications We Prefer: Experience working in a union manufacturing environment. Experience developing and implementing industry‑leading Safety and Health Programs. Mentoring and training experience. Experience in a manufacturing or related industry. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience forming, facilitating, and maintaining internal and cross‑functional teams. Continuous Improvement experience (CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN, etc.) strongly desired. Certifications such as CSP, CIH‑P.E., or CHMM strongly desired. Strong leadership ability to work with stakeholders from site leaders to shop floor. Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
