Material Prep Operator I, 2nd Shift

Job Title: Material Prep Operator I, 2nd Shift (United States of America) Summary: A successful Material Prep Operator I uses hand grinders, pedestal grinders and hand files to remove burrs and thread starts from various machined components in a safe manner. This is an hourly position reporting to the Group Leader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate manual Bridgeport machines, grinders, sandblasting equipment. Operate crane system for moving and handling heavier materials. Comprehend all routing and product documentation. Operate the parts washer. Maintain the work area including housekeeping and organization. Communicate and interact with other department employees and personnel as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to comprehend and follow work directions in a safe and proficient manner. Basic ability to read and follow routing steps. Basic understanding of material locations. Basic computer skills. Basic experience with small hand tools, grinders, sanders and files. Mechanical aptitude. Capable of obtaining a forklift operator license and operating a forklift.
