Senior Automation Support Engineer
Natera
Natera seeks a Senior Automation Support Engineer to implement and maintain automated laboratory systems for R&D and clinical diagnostics. The role involves troubleshooting liquid handling robots, designing service solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in San Carlos, CA.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and support liquid handling robots including qualification procedures
- Build expertise on hardware and software for Hamilton STAR, Vantage, and Beckman Biomek I7 systems
- Prepare documentation for equipment qualification, operation, and maintenance procedures
- Oversee functional and validation testing (IQ/OQ/PQ) of automated laboratory equipment
- Provide user training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for end-users
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or related scientific field; Master's preferred
- 4+ years of laboratory automation engineering experience
- Technical proficiency with robotics and liquid handling systems in life sciences
- Computer programming experience or basic method writing knowledge
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexible schedule to support M-F shifts and respond to urgent issues
