If you’re the kind of machinist who can think through a repair ,hold tight tolerances, and confidently run manual lathes and mills (notjust push buttons), this is a strong long-term opportunity. This role supports real industrial work — hydrauliccylinders, rods, pistons, glands, precision machining, repair machining, andrework . The shop is known for tackling large, high-stakes hydrauliccomponents and quality-driven work. (Garrod Hydraulics ) Job Type Full-time Directhire Permanent Year-round Pay Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Top pay for strong manual machinists who can hold tolerances and workindependently. What You’ll Be Doing Set upand operate manual engine lathes and manual mills (Bridgeport-style) Machineand repair hydraulic cylinder components (rods, pistons, glands,sleeves, etc.) Measureand hold tolerances using micrometers, calipers, indicators, boregauges Readand work from prints, sketches, and dimensions Performrepair-style machining: fit-up, rework, salvage, and precisioncorrection Maintainclean, safe work habits in a production/repair environment Requirements Requirements Manualmachining experience required (lathe + mill) Strongmeasuring skills and tolerance awareness Abilityto read prints / interpret dimensions Mechanicalmindset (repair work, not just repetitive parts) Reliableattendance (the team depends on you) Driver’slicense + reliable transportation Preferred (Not Required) Experiencewith hydraulic cylinder repair/remanufacturing Experiencemachining large parts / heavy industrial components Backgroundin shops doing repair work, not just production runs This Job Is NOT For You If: Youonly want CNC button-pushing Youstruggle with measuring, setups, or holding tolerances Youbounce around jobs or call off constantly Medical Benefits 401(k) Paid Time Off If you’re a Manual Machinist in York, PA looking fora stable, permanent, year-round role where your skills actually matter, #J-18808-Ljbffr Murphy's Family Staffing
