Shipping ClerkTo properly prepare and transport material in a way that insures accurate, on-time deliveries to our customers.Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouseComplete necessary paperwork by entering into computer to ship materialsVerify all skids are packaged properly. This includes that day's shipments, make and holds and jobs for future, etc.Communicate with carriers picking up ordersPrepare the material to ship out to customers. Protect the material on all sides using shrink-wrap. Strap material to the skid using banding and tensioner.Prepare material for export using special export skids and cutting necessary wood.Transport and organize material to prepare for shippingLoad outbound trucks matching carriers with correct assigned orders.Must be willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.High School diploma and/or equivalent and one year of related experienceMust have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-taskMust have tow motor experience and be able to successfully complete tow motor certification trainingExceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skillsMust possess good problem solving skillsAbility to interact in a professional manner with coworkers, other departments, and vendors.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingBasic computer skillsWillingness to work as team member or independentlyMust be able to read a tape measureMust be able to lift up to 50#'sMust be able to read a micrometerMust be able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involvedTranscendia is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all candidates for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
