Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and independence as a school-based Occupational Therapist! This assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and runs through June 10. Work near Pelham, AL, in an engaging educational environment where your expertise will make a direct impact. You’ll join a district-wide network of OTs, ensuring collaboration and ongoing professional support as you help students develop crucial life and academic skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license and Alabama-specific certification required (must be provided before start)
- Previous experience working in school settings is highly valued
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dedication to supporting children with varying needs and ages in academic settings
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week on-site (no virtual/remote options)
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy to students based on assigned campus, considering location preference and caseload needs
- Assess and develop individualized treatment plans to support students’ physical and functional needs in the school environment
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines
- Maintain thorough documentation of progress and adhere to all compliance and reporting requirements
- Participate in regular team meetings and ongoing professional development with fellow OTs across the district for consistent best practices
