Location: Bountiful, UT
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 8–10 hours per day | 100% In-Office
Pay Range: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team in Bountiful, UT. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support clinical research studies while working closely with researchers, healthcare professionals, and study participants.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about healthcare, with the ability to manage detailed documentation, communicate effectively with participants, and support the successful execution of research activities. Phlebotomy experience and proficiency in venipuncture are required , along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Candidates with knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, and clinical research procedures are highly encouraged to apply.
Training will be provided on study-specific procedures and protocols for candidates who demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the coordination and execution of clinical research studies while following study protocols and regulatory requirements.
Recruit, screen, and communicate with potential study participants to determine eligibility.
Coordinate study visits, appointments, and follow-up communications.
Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from study participants in accordance with study protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Process, label, document, store, and prepare biological specimens for shipment while maintaining specimen integrity and chain of custody.
Collect, record, and maintain accurate clinical research data and participant information.
Take detailed and organized notes during participant interactions, meetings, and research activities.
Maintain organized study files, regulatory documentation, and participant records.
Apply knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare concepts when reviewing documentation and communicating study information.
Communicate with study participants in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner.
Support research staff with administrative tasks, study preparation, and daily operations.
Collaborate with investigators, healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth study execution.
Prepare study materials, maintain research supplies, and assist with overall study coordination.
Maintain confidentiality and follow all study procedures, privacy standards, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Biology, Psychology, Public Health, Healthcare, Medical Assisting, Nursing, or a related discipline preferred.
Current phlebotomy certification (or eligibility where applicable) and demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture are required.
Previous experience collecting, labeling, handling, and processing blood specimens is required.
Understanding of medical terminology, healthcare processes, or clinical documentation is strongly preferred.
Strong note-taking, documentation, and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately record and manage information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Professional and compassionate approach when interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Previous clinical research experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
