Excelcare Newark is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to support the daily operations of our clinical unit. This role serves as a vital communication and administrative hub, assisting nursing staff, coordinating information flow, managing documentation, and ensuring efficient unit functioning. The Unit Clerk plays a key role in maintaining a professional, welcoming environment while helping the care team deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Unit Clerk Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update resident charts and unit records

• Answer phones, relay messages, and manage communication between departments

• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges documentation

• Support nursing staff with clerical tasks and scheduling

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and facility protocols

Unit Clerk Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a healthcare or clerical role preferred

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities

• Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
