We are seeking a landlord-side real estate litigator with strong experience and the ability to independently manage cases while contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully representing sophisticated clients, exceptional legal research and writing skills, and the ability to draft persuasive motion and appellate‑level submissions. Trial and appellate experience is a plus, and candidates should have an interest in participating in marketing initiatives and developing long‑term client relationships.

Compensation is based on the candidate’s experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their resume and salary expectations promptly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research and draft legal documents, including non‑payment and holdover notices, Housing Court pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Independently handle residential landlord‑tenant matters in NYC Housing Court, including high‑volume nonpayment and holdover proceedings.
• Represent landlords, managing agents, investors, and condominium boards in Housing Court, with some Supreme Court commercial and residential real estate litigation.
• Attend court appearances, argue motions, conduct hearings and trials, and participate in settlement conferences.
• Assist, as needed, with commercial real estate litigation and Supreme Court matters related to the firm’s real estate practice.
• Participate in marketing activities, including drafting articles and publications.
• Adhere to all firm policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High degree of academic achievement with a law degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active New York State Bar license in good standing.
• 5+ years of Landlord/Tenant litigation experience.
• Strong motion practice and writing skills; appellate or Supreme Court experience is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
• Portable book of business is a plus but not required.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to tackle all assigned tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software.
• Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and pride in delivering quality work.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to years of experience involving these roles and responsibilities, portable book of business, years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
