Sr. Mass Litigation Claims Professional

Zurich North America is currently seeking a Senior Mass Litigation Claims Professional to join our Latent & Environmental Claims team. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage moderate to high-severity commercial liability claims involving toxic torts, latent injuries, and class action litigation including complex coverage and litigated issues. You will be part of a Mass Litigation team specializing in the handling of complex, multi-year claims under CGL, umbrella, excess liability, employers’ liability, and other specialty coverages providing best in class service and expertise. At Zurich, the Latent & Environmental Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers resolve a wide array of existing and newly emerging claim exposures involving toxic tort and latent injuries, as well as class action litigation. As a member of our Mass Litigation team, you will manage each claim from assignment through resolution, with moderate direction from your manager and Claims leadership team. At this level, you will provide technical claims service on mostly litigated matters of moderate to high-severity and complexity to not only resolve claims, but to identify and mitigate risks, and deliver valuable industry insights. This requires significant policy interpretation and coverage analysis; retention and management of counsel and other vendors; collaboration with internal and external contacts, including underwriters, customers, and brokers; negotiation and claim resolution; and management of all communications and reporting associated during the life of a claim. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area. OR Juris Doctor and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area. OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an associate degree with 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area. OR Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area. OR High School Diploma Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area. AND Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s) Microsoft Office experience Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong negotiation skills Experience handling Mass Litigation claims Strong policy interpretation and coverage analysis skills Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills Ability to work independently with minimal direction or oversight Aptitude for collaborating in a team environment and building cross functional working relationships Proactive claim handling approach and sharing of insights Ability to gather unique perspectives from other teams/functions to optimize outcomes. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $150,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
