Lead Emergency Preparedness Across Two Hospital Campuses

Vanguard Resources, Inc. is actively recruiting for an experienced Healthcare Emergency Management professional to lead emergency preparedness, Life Safety, Environment of Care, and regulatory readiness across The Hospitals of Providence (THOP) Sierra and Memorial campuses in El Paso. This position serves as a shared resource across both campuses; directly supervises one Coordinator (also shared resources). The ideal candidate is a proactive, yet detailed leader who can turn plans into action, coordinate drills and training, maintain survey readiness, identify risk, and partner effectively with hospital leadership and community emergency-management resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Designated Hospital Safety Officer: lead hospital emergency management planning, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery
• Develop, maintain, and evaluate Emergency Operations Plans
• Plan and coordinate emergency drills, exercises, and staff education
• Maintain regulatory readiness for Emergency Management, Environment of Care, and Life Safety requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and develop corrective and mitigation actions
• Support compliance with NFPA 101, NFPA 99, Joint Commission/CMS requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local standards
• Maintain required emergency-management documentation, plans, evaluations, drills, testing, and inspection records
• Partner with hospital leadership, clinical departments, Facilities/Plant Operations, regulators, and community emergency-management partners
• Supervise and develop the shared Safety/Emergency Management Coordinator

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Healthcare or hospital experience is required (acute care)
• Experience in emergency management, emergency preparedness, Life Safety, Environment of Care, safety, or regulatory compliance
• Knowledge of Emergency Operations Planning and emergency-management principles
• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Working knowledge of NFPA 101 and NFPA 99
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and locations
• Consent to pre-employment healthcare screenings & immunizations
• Compliance with VRI pre-employment background check & drug screen process
• Clean driving record
