Insurance Manager - Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Long-Term Care & Annuities

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to lead our Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Long-Term Care, and Annuities division. This role will oversee underwriting, case placement, illustration support, team leadership, and advisor engagement while driving business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Case Management

• Develop, implement, and optimize underwriting and case placement processes for life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care insurance, and annuity products.

• Collaborate with insurance carriers to obtain competitive underwriting offers and favorable client outcomes.

• Manage complex insurance cases from application through policy issuance.

Illustration & Case Design

• Oversee the preparation of accurate insurance illustrations and product comparisons.

• Ensure illustrations align with client objectives, regulatory standards, and advisor recommendations.

• Support advisors with case design and product selection strategies.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing insurance operations team.

• Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.

• Foster a collaborative, client-focused work environment.

Advisor Support & Training

• Serve as the primary insurance subject matter expert for financial advisors.

• Provide technical guidance on life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care, and annuity solutions.

• Develop and conduct product training sessions, workshops, and educational programs.

• Assist advisors through licensing and onboarding processes when required.

Business Development

• Identify opportunities to grow insurance and annuity business lines.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, wholesalers, and strategic partners.

• Support initiatives that increase advisor engagement and insurance production.

Compliance & Operations

• Ensure all underwriting, placement, and illustration activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

• Maintain accurate documentation and operational workflows.

• Monitor industry trends, product updates, and regulatory changes.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in life insurance, long-term care insurance, disability insurance and annuities, preferably within a registered advisory or broker-dealer environment.

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced credentials (CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®) are highly valued.

• Demonstrated expertise in underwriting, placement, and illustration production for life insurance, disability insurance and annuity products.

• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

• Proven track record in team leadership and staff development.
