With a network of hundreds of Data Analysts, Quants, and Data Scientists, challenging projects with an eye on the bottom line and a focus on work/life balance, we've created a dynamic environment with plenty of room for you to learn, grow, and realize your full potential.On a given day you will be:Refining a new Enterprise-wide analytical tools validation frameworkPlanning and executing validation projectsAssessing the quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One, and the nature of tools usage within those processesUnderstanding technical issues in analytical tools and assessing tools risks and opportunitiesIndependently researching, identifying, and prototyping industry best practices for emerging analytical toolsCommunicating results clearly and concisely both verbally and through written communications via validation reports and presentationsLeveraging education, colleagues and training opportunities to develop solutions to business problemsCoaching and mentoring junior staffAn ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. This position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams.Basic QualificationsCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of experience performing data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree plus at least 5 years of experience performing data analytics with an expectation that required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.At least 5 years of experience performing professional data analysis workAt least 5 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologiesAt least 2 years of experience managing peoplePreferred Qualifications:Master's Degree or PhD in a Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related fieldAt least 7 years of experience in statistical or econometrics hands-on workAt least 5 years of experience manipulating and performing analysis with large data setsAt least 5 years of experience in financial services industryAt least 5 years of experience in developing statistical or econometric modelsAt least 5 years of experience in validating statistical or econometric modelsAt least 2 years of experience with data governanceAt least 2 years of experience with predictive analyticsCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
