Description Waldo Hospital Nursing/Clinical Support Req #: 75518 Medical Assistant - MaineHealth - Primary Care, Family Medicine (Lincolnville) Hours: Per diem Practice: MaineHealth Primary Care - Family Medicine - Lincolnville Position Summary MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Primary Care team in Lincolnville. This role supports providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Family medicine practices focus on comprehensive, preventive, and ongoing care for patients of all ages. Learn more about the practice here: Key Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and documentation Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments Administer medications and vaccines per protocol Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing Coordinate patient flow and ensure an efficient clinical environment Provide patient education and support care coordination Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
