Actuarial Analyst

Salary: $5,051.00 – $9,107.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Final filing date: 6/30/2026 Responsibilities Review companies' Principle Based Reserving (PBR) documentation to ensure it reflects PBR standards and appropriate assumptions and methods. Evaluate life insurance company deterministic reserve methods and stochastic reserve techniques based on PBR methodology. Assist in performing governmental decisions related to financial surveillance in accordance with the Conflict of Interest Code. Minimum Requirements Actuarial Analyst classification salary ranges: A $5,051.00 – $6,018.00; B $6,054.00 – $8,290.00; C $6,934.00 – $9,107.00. Eligible for telework and meeting California residency requirements. Desirable Qualifications BA/BS in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related quantitative discipline. At least one actuarial exam passed. 0.5 to 3 years of work experience, preferably in an actuarial or analytical position. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Familiarity with actuarial and statistical modeling methods and programming languages. Strong analytical and communication skills; able to multi-task and work independently.
