Database Engineer

Job Description Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer to support enterprise database environments through database engineering, systems administration, and automation. This role is responsible for maintaining high availability, improving performance, and supporting mission‑critical operational systems. Duties Design, develop, administer, and maintain enterprise database management systems. Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance solutions. Implement database backup, recovery, and replication strategies. Develop automation solutions using Ansible and UNIX/Linux shell scripting. Perform Linux and Windows server patching and system maintenance activities. Support database operations, troubleshooting, and continuous system improvement initiatives. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years. Experience administering enterprise database environments and SQL performance tuning. Strong experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting and automation tools such as Ansible. Experience with Linux and Windows operating system administration and patch management. Experience supporting database replication, backup, and recovery operations.
