Position Summary

The Accounting Associate is part of the Finance team and is responsible for daily banking activity under the direction of the Cash Manager. Key responsibilities of this position are to balance and post daily bank deposits to accounting systems, ensure accuracy, and work with other departments to resolve any discrepancies.

Essential Functions

Banking Accounts

• Daily clearing of AP checks in accounting software
• Processing refunds for special events
• Recording non-sufficient funds and fees

Transactions

• Daily recording of bank deposits via desktop teller
• Daily import of web payment activity and posting into CRM
• Daily recording credit card payment activity
• Daily recording of cash disbursements activity
• Daily export CSV CRM and import into accounting software
• Daily update of payment ledgers for JCF/JFSA

CRM

• Daily recording of pledge payments
• Daily recording of credit card payments
• As needed cash receipts adjustments

Maintain Records & Files

• Download daily check NBAZ Deposit Reports - Treasury Gateway
• Scan daily check deposits & credit card - Finance folder
• Scan daily check deposit - AR Shared Folder - Development
• Scan credit card reports - AR Shared Folder - Development
• Maintain/ file records - Payment posting CRM JCF/JFSA
• Maintain/ file records - Payments & other entries MIP
• Maintain/ file records - Payments & other entries business central

Other

• Work evenings and weekends as needed to accomplish the essential functions of the role.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience in cash management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with staff, volunteers, partner organizations, government officials and community stakeholders inside and outside the Jewish community.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Intermediate Microsoft office skillset
• Flexibility and adaptability to change.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to legally work in the United States.
• Ability to pass criminal background check.
• Ability to provide a clean 39-month Motor Vehicle Report

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience in cash management in a banking, healthcare or non-profit environment
• Experience working with Microsoft CRM
• Experience working with accounting software Abilia MIP, Akoya Go or Sage
