Job Title: Senior Mechanical Project Manager (Mechanical Piping) Job Description

This Senior Mechanical Project Manager role leads large-scale mechanical piping projects across data centers, healthcare and hospital facilities, industrial plants, and mission-critical environments. You will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction while driving successful delivery of complex mechanical construction work.

• Manage all phases of mechanical piping projects from preconstruction through closeout, including planning, scheduling, procurement, construction, and turnover.
• Lead project teams and coordinate daily with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
• Own project financials, including budgets, forecasting, profitability, cash flow, and cost control, and maintain strong financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and change orders, to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Identify, communicate, and resolve design, scheduling, manpower, and construction issues in a timely manner to minimize risk and avoid delays.
• Review and approve supplier and subcontractor invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual terms and project budgets.
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, including resource planning and staffing needs, to meet milestones and overall project deadlines.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and company procedures on all project sites.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, provide excellent customer service, and support opportunities for future and repeat business.
• Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and leadership to support their growth.
• Lead project teams to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and profitability goals while managing multiple concurrent projects when required.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to support successful delivery of mechanical piping systems in data centers, healthcare, hospital, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience with a mechanical contractor.
• Direct, hands-on mechanical piping experience, including hydronic piping systems used throughout large facilities.
• For Senior Project Manager level, 815+ years of experience managing large, complex mechanical construction projects.
• Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar construction projects, including project financials, subcontractors, procurement, and client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change management processes.
• Experience delivering projects in data centers, healthcare and hospital environments, industrial facilities, or mission-critical settings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining control over scope, schedule, and budget.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven financial ownership and accountability, including forecasting and cost control for large-scale projects.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to resolve complex technical and construction issues quickly.
• Experience leading teams while consistently meeting safety, quality, schedule, and profitability objectives.

• Experience managing mechanical construction projects valued between approximately $30M and $100M+ is preferred for Senior Project Managers.
• Data center construction experience, particularly involving mechanical piping and mission-critical systems.
• Healthcare and hospital construction experience, including mechanical piping and specialized facility requirements.
• Industrial and pharmaceutical project experience, especially with complex pipe systems and hydronic piping.
• Mission-critical construction experience, supporting facilities that require high reliability and continuous operation.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for document review and collaboration.
• Experience using Procore for construction project management and documentation.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 for detailed project scheduling and resource planning.
• Experience with Microsoft Project for schedule development and tracking.
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, communication, and documentation.
• Background in construction management and mechanical piping contracting, including industrial construction and hospital construction environments.

This position operates in a fast-paced, onsite construction environment focused on large-scale mechanical piping projects. You will collaborate closely with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and subcontractors on active job sites. The organization is experiencing significant growth and has more work than available manpower, creating substantial opportunities for long-term career advancement and potential conversion to a permanent role after a contract-to-hire period. You will support projects across the region, working in mission-critical, healthcare, industrial, and data center facilities where safety, quality, and reliability are paramount.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conyers, GA.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
