Process Control Specialist

Job Description

Wausau Coated is seeking a Process Control Specialist to join the team at our Wausau, WI location. The Process Control Specialist leads daily process management at operations level to ensure product quality and consistency on assigned assets. In this role, the Process Specialist works closely with process engineering and maintenance to identify and implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide written and verbal product and quality expectations to coater supervision, leads, and operators daily to minimize production and quality issues.
\n
• Authority to direct coater supervision and operators on process and product expectations.
\n
• Ensures that all job information and quality requirements are accurate in advance of jobs running on assigned assets.
\n
• Ensure all manufacturing specification content is current and clear.
\n
• Assists with development of operator training content.
\n
• Be available for off shift consulting with supervision / coater operators.
\n
• Collaborate well with operations, production support, maintenance, technical, and quality.
\n
• Participates in Continuous Improvement activities associated with asset responsibility.
\n
• Assists with process development activities in support of new products.
\n
• Works alongside engineering team to design and test process solutions.
\n
• Operates as a safety advocate and has authority to direct coater supervision and operators on process and product expectations.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Experience in lamination, coating, paper, or packaging environment is beneficial.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate interdepartmentally.
\n
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean concepts.
\n
